Loose Seam Thickness
A loose (high) seam thickness can occur when the 2nd operation is set up incorrectly, causing possible leaks and other severe issues in the can. It is important to validate that the problem occurs not only in the open (cut) seam but also on the closed seam to ensure the problem was not induced by the slitting (cutting) saw.
Possible reasons for Loose (high) Seam Thickness:
- Loose 2nd operation roll
- SpringbackSpringback
- Incorrect lifter pressure or pin height
- Wrong roll profile
- Incorrect cans or ends
